Fundraising

As part of Confirmation preparation the sixth class pupils organise various fundraising activities throughout the year. At the end of the year they decide which charities they wish to donate the funds to.

Each year the 6th classes raise money for charities as part of their Confirmation preparation. We held three fundraisers are held to raise money as part of our Confirmation Charity.  These were Freaky Fashion Friday, non-uniform days, the Christmas Fair, Christmas Hamper Raffle, Christmas cards & calendars,  and the Easter Raffle.  They also organise a Screen-free day where the children from 6th class play board games in the hall with the 3rd, 4th and 5th class groups.  Great fun is always  had by all.

Thanks to the Parents association for their generous and delicious donations for the cake sale.

Thanks to Glanmore Foods who always supply a beautiful Christmas & Easter hamper.

From the money raised, generous donations will be made on behalf of the school to a variety of charities. Thanks again.

Shoebox Appeal – Team Hope

HOMELESS SHOEBOX APPEAL

This year’s Shoebox Appeal for the Homeless (Team Hope) was another roaring success.  As a school, we were thrilled and overwhelmed (but not surprised) by the generosity of everyone who donated what they could. The people receiving these gifts will no doubt be extremely grateful for the generous donations. The shoeboxes were jam packed full of all-sorts including: sweets, hats, gloves and even colouring books and amazing toys. In total, we collected a staggering fifty-one shoeboxes and needed two trips in the car to drop them off. We can’t thank you enough; you have made a lot of people in need very happy this Christmas. Thank you! J

Children’s Hospital, Crumlin

GUEST SPEAKER FROM CRUMLIN HOSPITAL

Sinéad Nolan from our Lady’s Hospital in Crumlin came to our school on 9th May to explain what would be done with the money we donated.  We were delighted to hear it would be going towards educational resources for the hospital’s school.  We were so sad to hear that some children have spent most of their lives in the hospital and when they are well enough they go to school in the hospital.  Sinéad presented  a slide showing  of some of the children in hospital.  We are so glad that the money we raised is going towards helping others.           Ms. Canavan June 2018
